KING'S LYNN 51 LIONS 42

Leicester put up a sturdy performance at the Adrian Flux Arena last night and despite ending the evening losing by 51 points to 42 they threatened to secure their first success on the road this season.

Nicolai Klindt was at the centre of the team’s early push, gaining three heat wins in the first five races and with guest for the night Freddie Lindgren also among the points Leicester were off to a good start.

After seven races there was just a two points difference between the sides and then a 4-2 for the Paul Chapman and Sons Lions turned into a 5-1 reversal when Klindt’s bike ground to a halt when way out in front. The Stars repeated the result again in Heat 9 to put them 10 points ahead which forced Leicester into a tactical ride which Patrick Hougaard won. Lindgren collected his second win of the night in the following race followed by Aaron Summers who passed Niels-Kristian Iversen.

The two successes whittled King’s Lynn’s lead down to three points. Josh Auty then won Heat 12 and Aaron Summers held off an ever pressing Robert Lambert two races later but in between the Stars picked up the points to prevent Leicester going home with at least a consolation bonus match point.

King’s Lynn 51 points: Niels-Kristian Iversen 11, Mads Korneliussen 8, Robert Lambert 11+1, Kai Huckenbeck 5+1, 5. Sam Masters 4+2, Carl Wilkinson 6+3 and 7. Lewis Rose 6+1

Leicester 42 points: Patrick Hougaard 8, Paul Starke 1, Aaron Summers 8+1, Freddie Lindgren 10, Nicolai Klindt 9 and Josh Auty 6
